The EDS volunteer team assists police, fire fighters and other emergency disaster personnel by bringing food and drinks to emergency disaster sites. There are also opportunities for national disaster training and travel.
Our commitment to our volunteers includes training, proper equipment and uniforms. We also offer you the chance to make lifelong friends and have an impact on the Dane County community. Join us for monthly meetings and upcoming training in emergency food service; child protection; weather spotting; first aid and resuscitation; and hazardous material incidents.
Whether you are 18 or 81, we can offer you a meaningful volunteer opportunity in the community.

Disaster Services Team Leader
Are you an energetic, experienced team leader with proven management skills who is looking for an opportunity to volunteer for community emergencies?
As a disaster services team leader you will oversee your team on the disaster scene under the supervision of the Emergency Disaster Service Coordinator. It is a responsible position with advanced training opportunities. Team members include a canteen driver, a general set-up person, food servers and a runner who uses a second vehicle to restock supplies. A team leader's average commitment is three hours per month beyond training and time spent on EDS assistance calls.
