Medic Clinic
Every Tuesday night, The Salvation Army conducts Medic Clinic in conjunction with students and faculty from the University of Wisconsin Medical School for shelter residents who do not have access to health care or have emergency medical needs.
Dental Clinic
Every Thursday night, The Salvation Army conducts a dental clinic for shelter residents in conjunction with students and faculty from Madison Area Technical College. Exams and cleanings are performed, and basic dental procedures are available.
Employment Search/Resume Assistance
A representative from the Dane County Job Center assists shelter residents Wednesday afternoons with job searches and resume writing.
Meriter Health Program
Nurses, doctors, and a social worker from Meriter Hospital come to The Salvation Army monthly to meet with adult residents and assist with medical and mental health needs.
Public Health
Medical students come to The Salvation Army once a week and meet and speak with the residents of the Single Women’s Shelter.
Incentive Groups
Incentive groups offer a variety of services for shelter residents. These groups focus on a variety of useful issues, including budgeting, personal writing, and parenting skills.
