The Salvation Army of Dane County believes today’s children and youth are tomorrow’s promise. By promoting their physical, social, emotional and spiritual growth, we recognize their potential and our responsibility to help them achieve it.
At the Madison Corps Community Center, young people are offered a variety of educational, recreational and character building programs that help them learn and grow while having fun with their friends. Tutoring, sports, hobbies, camping, and after-school learning opportunities enable them develop the strengths and insights that will serve them throughout life.
In addition to its regular scheduled activities, the Center reaches out to its neighbors through special events in cooperation with other agencies. Working with the Worthington Park Neaighborhood Association and the nearby Department of Corrections staff, The Salvation Army hosts a summer garden on its back lot where young people and adults share in raising food for the Food Panty. Special events throughout the year include a neighborhood block party, Fishing Fridays at popular spots in Madison, and the annual Community Thanksgiving Dinner. |
