For decades, The Salvation Army has focused on the spiritual growth and personal development of children, teens, and young adults. The Community Center sponsors a number of programs designed to build character and foster self-sufficiency, while emphasizing the importance of community service and religious faith.
Sunbeams
Sunbeams offers a character building ministry for girls ages 6 to 11, who are interested in expanding their knowledge through Christian fellowship and earning emblems. The program encourages physical, mental, moral and spiritual development, and encourages service to others. The only requirements for joining Sunbeams are regular meeting attendance and parental consent.
Sunbeams explore a wide range of activities, such as the arts, crafts, Bible study, drug awareness, ecology and nature study, etiquette, first aid and safety, homemaking, swimming and cycling, and astronomy and space travel.

Girl Guards
Girl Guards is a program for teen girls. The girls engage in a variety of activities, including arts and crafts, field trips, service projects, and exploring a wide rage of topics with special guest speakers.
