The Salvation Army of Dane County traditionally sponsors three annual events to benefit the many programs and services it supports throughout the year.
- Christmas in July is a week-long campaign to fill the Food Pantry shelves. Because of the theme, many Dane County grocery stores and other retailers graciously host the Red Kettles in mid-July.
- Tin Cup Lunch is a simple lunch of soup, bread and beverages at a local hotel. It is our opportunity to honor individuals and organizations that have made notable contributions through their services and donations and to tell the good things that are happening at The Salvation Army of Dane County because of their support.
- The Christmas Kettle Campaign is the traditional Red Kettle fundraiser that provides major financial support for The Salvation Army of Dane County. Beginning in mid-November and concluding on Christmas Eve, hundreds of volunteer Bell Ringers and generous donors make this event a success each year.
The Macker 3-on-3 Basketball Tournament, which was hosted by The Salvation Army of Dane County in May 2011, is an example of the special events that are being developed to supplement regular fundraisers. This newest fundraiser features friendly competition in a family-oriented atmosphere. |
